Goleta is a highly desirable place to live and work. Most of the technology companies are located here and there is a wide range of amenities, including several beaches, shopping centers, plenty of restaurants and a farmer’s market held twice a week. Within the city limits are softball, baseball, and soccer fields as well as a bowling alley and great schools, making Goleta an ideal place to raise children.

Immediately west of Santa Barbara, Goleta is a center for high-tech firms, light industry and is home to the sprawling campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) and the Santa Barbara Airport.

Historically, it was the site of one of the largest Native American villages of the Chumash, and the area was first visited by European explorers in the 16th century. Today, Goleta encompasses approximately 26 square miles and offers its 55,000 or so residents a variety of residential real estate options.
